Exploring Granbury: Restaurants for Teens

For a small town like Granbury, we pack a lot of delicious, appetizing food served from classy restaurants to lakeside grub. I have only lived here for about three years, and there are some restaurants here that never fail to satisfy my taste buds and a hungry appetite.

Eating With the Fish

I'd like to start by mentioning one of my favorite lakeside restaurants, this is also a well-known place by many teens, and they give the same appreciation to their food as I do. Stumpy's Lakeside Grill, also known as Stumpy's, is a restaurant on the lake that serves burgers, fries, shrimp, fish-and-chips, etc. This place serves your average food that most lakeside or small restaurants would, if you're just feeling snacky, but this place is a comfortable home for families, and the food will fill you up in an instant.

My family and I often like to take our boat out on the lake whenever it's a nice, sunny, warm day and enjoy the weather and swim in the cold lake water to cool off. Although we do have fun and enjoy hours of boat trips, we usually get hungry and we don't want to go home and get dressed properly just to go to a restaurant on the road and cut off the boating evening. So it is convenient that Stumpy's is a lakeside restaurant, and we can simply just ride our boat into the dock of the restaurant, hop off, and get a table to be served. Did I mention that fish, geese, and turtles often swim up to the dock? It's what keeps the kiddos entertained, there's even a little machine outside that you can get handfuls of fish food to feed the animals, but watch out for the crows, they'll try and nap your fries.

A Little Bit of Chicken Fried

Another restaurant I drool over is Babe's Chicken Dinner House. This place is a relaxed local chain serving fried chicken and homestyle American sides. It's known for its delicious homemade fried chicken and thanksgiving-like food. The setting is sort of a rustic type that you would see in most American and BBQ restaurants. It's cozy, smells of delicious food, and has a wooden structure on the interior. Personally, I enjoy this place because it's nearby, and they serve a lot of my favorite foods that you can just sit and enjoy on a Friday night or any night! I haven't eaten inside the building myself, but other teens have mentioned that they enjoy the food too and say it's the kind of food that you can think of at the top of your head and everybody else can agree. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes with golden corn, who can say no to that?

Feast Your Eyes

Some honorable mentions to the list of delicious restaurants are Joe's Pizza and Pasta. I love Italian food a lot, and this place has some of the best pasta I've tasted since I moved here. Grumps Burgers is similar to Stumpy's burgers and chicken wings but more classy. Sometimes my family and I go there to watch football on the TV screens they have. Miyako is a sushi place in Granbury that has a wide selection of sushi, soup, and hibachi meals made right in front of you. My family tries to limit ourselves to only go out once a week since it can be expensive, especially sushi. When there are so many appetizing options, it's hard not to consider going out and getting to enjoy the mouth-watering meals.
